New WordPress Plugin to use Vital Wall to track your Blog
I have released a new wordpress plugin today that you can use to set up a wordpress blog to work with one of your Vital Walls. All you need to do is set up a wall and then download the plugin and install it on your blog, add the wall id in the options and your wall will begin showing blog titles live when they are visited.
Download and Install Plugin
You can download the plugin at:
http://vitalwall.com/wp_plugin/vitalwall_wp.zip
Now, unzip the file into the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your blog. Then go to the plugins page of your admin panel and activate the plugin. Once activated, you can go to the Vital Wall options under the Settings menu and enter your wall id.
That's it! When someone visits a post on your blog, the title will show up on your wall.

Add your Vital Wall to your Facebook Page
It's not hard to add one of your walls to your Facebook Page. With the new iframe tabs they allow you to add, it's rather simple.
So what can you do with a vital wall on your Facebook Page?
- Have a Live Top List of Products on your site
- Put a "Window" in your shop and show the images of viewed products as they are viewed by other customers or as they are added to a cart.
- Have a top list of the last # hour's top blog posts viewed.
Window Shopping – Create a Live Feed of Hot Items on Your Front Page
When you walk into a store and you see a crowd around a shelf, you're going to go see what they are looking at. You want the same thing to happen when people visit your website? Then put a vital wall on your front page that shows a live feed of currently viewed items. This will enable vistors to see what is being viewed live. If there is a hot item, people entering your store are going to see it.
Take a look at the front page of silverbullet.com. You will see a "Hot Items" section on the right. This shows all the items being viewed, live!
It's quick an easy to install.
Quick Install
First, set up a wall in your account.
Then, go to your product page in your site. At the bottom of the page, insert the following code.
Of course, you can pass whatever you like in the vitaldata variable. This is just a format I used when writing silverbullet.com. Now, when your product page is visited, the data for that item is passed to your vitalwall and is available for your wall.
Include Your Wall
To include the wall on your front page, insert the following code in your page. Put the div with the id of results where you want your wall.
Then, towards the bottom of the page, insert the following code.
Use CSS to customize your wall
You can use CSS to customize the look of your wall. Add borders, colors, margins etc.
That's it. You now have a live view of what is being viewed in your ecommerce store, and better yet, so do your customers.

Welcome to the VitalWall Blog
Welcome to VitalWall.com's Blog. Over the coming weeks we will introduce you to more features and new ways to display your walls.
What is VitalWall?
VitalWall.com makes it simple for you to track what you need to track from your website on a daily basis. Google Analytics is great to see how you have done over the last week, month or year, but you need to know what is happening now. If a product on your e-commerce site is suddenly the most popular thing on the web or an article on your site is mentioned somewhere and is now being read very minute, you need to know.
Right now, you can set up a wall to do any of these things in minutes by copying a couple of lines of code to your site. It's just like installing google analytics. Set up a wall to show what products are being looked at on your site as it happens. Set up a wall to view articles read on your blog as they happen. You can view this wall in your browser, share the link with co-workers, or better yet, put it on a big screen in your office or department so everybody can see it.
This is just the beginning. In the coming weeks, we will be adding many new features to make walls from other sources and cusomtize the walls. There are too many plans to go into right now, but watch this blog for all the updates.
To set up a wall now, sign up for a free account now while we are in beta. If you have any feedback or suggestions, don't hesitate to share them here.
See a Wall in Action
Here is a link to one of the first walls set up. This wall shows products on valorcorp.com as the public views them. They have walls to show customers as they log in, cities as they log in and search terms as they are entered. This gives them a real feeling of what is going on and who is on their website without having to decipher charts and reports. This wall is created in early beta, so by the time you see this, there will likely be more options available than are seen here.
